EAP Supervisory Training outline: An overview of the Employee Assistance Program, how its' intention is as a benefit to employees, and the voluntary, confidential nature of the assistance to employees and their family members in dealing with personal problems. Stress Management

1 or 2 HOURS

A workshop that will help you learn to effectively manage the stress in your life. You will learn to identify your stress sources, and minimize their opportunities to invade your life. You will also learn how to recognize and control your stress reactions, both immediately and over the long term.

Dealing with Difficult People

1 1/2 HOURS

This workshop is packed with ideas on how to uncomplicate and enhance your interaction with others. Suitable for teams or other work groups, or for those who must deal with an unfriendly, at times, public.

Anger Management

1 1/2 HOURS

This workshop focuses on an effective way to deal with anger, frustration and irritation in the workplace. Didactic and experiential opportunities for learning.

Handling Change positively

1 HOUR

A seminar on the inevitability of change, and developing personal strategies for coping with it.

Communication 101

1 HOUR

This workshop will enable participants to hear and be heard in both business and personal encounters. We will spend time practicing new skills.

Difficult Conversations

1 HOUR

This workshop will help participants more effectively handle those uncomfortable conversations that give us all pause. We will address the unsaid perceptions that impact all difficult conversations, and how to engage in a learning conversation.

Achieving Balance

1 HOUR

This workshop will give participants building blocks for achieving balance in their life. Learn the importance of personal goal setting, and choosing priorities for our time.

Perception

1 HOUR

This workshop enables participants to identify the impact of perception on experience and expectations. Handouts and discussion included.

Employee Drug Awareness Training

1/2 or 1 HOUR

(Suitable for drug free workplace requirements)
Presentation of signs & symptoms of use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs, potential for harm in workplace with use of alcohol/other illicit drugs. Video presentation and/or discussion, handouts provided.

Viloence in the wokplace Training

2 HOURS

  1. Introduce working definition of violence in the workplace, focus of training on preventative measures by supervisors to identify and defuse aggression and dysfunctional workplace behaviors.
  2. Distribute and complete “Awareness Check” T/F instrument.
  3. Video (25 minutes) on violence in the workplace.
  4. Guided discussion of material presented in video regarding workplace behavior.
  5. Handouts and discussion of technical/legal fact sheets. (include your workplace specific policy as provided to trainer)
Reasonable Suspicion Training

3/4 HOUR

  1. Definition of reasonable suspicion, how it fits in a drug free work place, and the specific terms of your policy. (*as you have provided)
  2. One (1) video tape (17 minutes) for training, with a follow-up quiz to be distributed to and completed by all participants.
  3. Discussion of quiz, by each question, and wrap up of necessary steps. 4. Sample documentation form distributed and explained for reference purpose in future.
